Can you listen to the mp3 files just fine though?
Are you sure they are in mp3 format?

Ok make sure you have the latest firmware.
To check your current firmware press *#0000# and can you tell me what does it say so i know if you have the newest firmware.
Maybe it's just a bug from having an old firmware.

I think I know what the problem is.
Maybe some of the phone's features has been disabled by your service provider.
Is it a locked phone? meaning you can't put a different SIM card in it?
What service provider are you using?

My n95 is originally a Rogers phone but the person i bought it from got it unlocked for me so i could use it with Fido. Everything works even though im using fido except that i cant do mp3 ringtones. i think youre right about Rogers having probably locked this feature out.

Yes I was pretty sure that it's a Rogers phone. or actually used to be a Rogers.
Ok since it is unlocked, the next step is really easy.
You need to unbrand your phone.
Unbranding your phone will remove all unnecessary Rogers application out of your phone and will install original Nokia software.

I'm glad i can help. Okay first of all, you need to make sure you have a fully charged battery (actually it doesn't really have to be fully charged, just make sure it's no gonna die soon). Then you need your N95 usb cable and the latest PC suite AND NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER. go to Nokia website to get them.
tell me after you have all of them ready :)
