New owner! Basic questions

I got my N95 today. Have not had time to play with it yet but...

I read about people watching videos on these-are these just videos taken on the phone or can you actually watch films?

When using GPS will i be charged for this service- i am a Vodafone contract user.

Can i use the radio without the headset plugged in?

How good do the internal speakers sound?

Will i need a 2gb card?

The manual looks daunting to me-any simple online setup guides?

Sorry if all of these questions have been answered many times, i would really appreciate any help though

Thanks

Ian

If you use the right compression and format, yes you can - search the forum for guides

Firstly, poor you for having Voda.

GPS is free, although turn by turn navigation is a chargeable service.

No, the headphones are the aerial. Although you can still listen through the speakers

depends on the quality of the recording in my exp. The speakers are very good on my phone with the right compression settings on the MP3 files.

If you plan on using it to the max, yes get a 2GB card.

Hey Ian, welcome to the forums :D

I'm sure you're really excited.. ok to your questions..

Videos: You can actually watch videos/films you've downloaded.. I've actually got lots of simpsons episodes and even downloaded films and went to my friends house and watched it using the TV-Out cable. yo watch films on your phone you'll need to convert them using a converter programme. The best converter I've found is here: PS3Video9 - Video Conversion

Internet: This depends on your contract and if you have any data bundles.. call vodafone up they should be able to tell you.

Radio: You have to use the headset as it acts as an aerial.. but you can set it to loudspeaker as well if you don't want to listen using the headset.

Speakers: They're really really good and loud and clear.

2GB Card: If you want to make the most of the phone I'd recommend you get it.. you'll be surprised how quickly it fills up.. with your songs.. pictures.. videos.. films etc!!!! I've just ordered my second memory card.

Manual: Theres a quick user guide in the box that's handy.

Hope I helped.. don't hesitate to if you need to know anything else.
