Over Heating

Hi,

Is it possible for the N95 to overheat because we did not exit out an app?

I dloaded a game from gameloft.

After playing the game, i just press the menu button without exiting the game properly.

That was 3 hours ago.

I checked my phone and it is warm to the touch and my battery life went from full bars to 2 bars in 3 hours.

I exited all opened apps and the phone cooled down.

Is it my imagination, or did the phone really overheat because of the open apps?

that's the battery discharging. games drains the battery, so logically if its still running in the background it'll discharge the battery. discharging on the other hand emits heat.

another example of a battery draining would be surfing the net on your phone via wifi. it's not really overheating. can be considered normal (while discharging battery of course)

Nothing you can do about it man mine is hot all the time. This is not good for the chips temperature over 55 C are dangerous for the chips. Try giving it less to do.

I never noticed my phone getting hot even with music, games and windows live messenger running along with wifi. I remember my dell axim x51v, now that thing with wifi on and full 624mhz would burn your hand almost literally.

eid un sa'id!

i tried websurfing via wifi on my phone yesterday, and got about 2-3 hours till it reached 3 bars. so it definitely not a defect. haven't tried playing games that long though. bet my hands will go numb =D

which phone and firmware version do you have? key in *#0000# on the phone idle screen and update your profile.
