Possible to remove... (help with random things)

Is it possible to remove the things on the main screen here
highlighted in red


and one more thing
when i install themes my main menu icons never change but sub menu and everything else changes
more diagrams lol
this is with all themes btw
i dont know if its just me

In answer to the first point,yes you can do a search for "Clean Active Standby" and that should bring up threads where this has been discussed before. As to the second point I believe that if you turn off the icon animation by going to menu and then selecting options this should show the theme icons.
