Low battery life
Well, i have a Nokia N82, but it's similar enough to the N95 to post here :P
My battery lasts for a day, i have to charge it up every night, even with little usage, otherwise i'll wake up with it dead.
I have installed Engery Profiler, its at 0.23watt in its normal state, however, every 30 seconds, it shoots right up too 0.9, and sometimes over 1 watt for about 5-6 seconds, then returns to 0.23.
Can anyone explain what this could be? It seemed to happen all of a sudden, and theres nothing that i've not used before installed on the phone when it was fine.
If i have no luck, a format of the phone will have to be done.

1. Do you have any applications that are trying to run in the background ?
2. Have you tried updating your firmware to cure any niggles with power handling ?
3. When profiler is running, and it shoots up, press and hold menu key for 2 seconds, to see what apps are running which you could close.
4. Do a search for " Sudden Battery Drain" on this forum, which has it's own thread for people experiencing sudden battery drain.
HTH.

1. I do, but these are the same applications that ive had set up for a long time with no problems. I've tried closing them too, but the same problem.
2. My frimware for over 3 months hasn't caused this problem, and i don't want to upgrade it, as v30 for the N82 is currently unhackable :(
3. Using Jbak Taskmanager, no other app shows up hat shouldnt be there.
4. I've done all those things it says, and the same thing happens too.
Is there a way to test for a stuck gallery key, or any other for that matter, without taking the phone appart? On the outside, none of the buttons feel like they are pressed in.

it almost sounds like WLAN scanning is on which I believe scans every couple seconds to check for WiFi. That or if you have push email set up that might do it as well.

I'm pretty sure i have the scanning turned off, however, im not 100% sure! I don't use the push email function however.
On the main active standby screen, it's set to do not scan, but is there any other ways to make sure it's disabled? No icon is on to say i'm connected to anything.
It does remind me of the time it started happening actually, i noticed it the mornign after i had been browsing using wi-fi the previous. I also downloaded Opera Mini during that session, incase it has any relevance.
It's just wiered how every 30 seconds, something happens for 5-6 seconds thats really demanding on the energy!

have you downloaded any geo-tagging software? Or doesn't it come with geo-tagging? This might look for a gps signal every so often. Not sure if there's a way to disable it but worth a shot to check

Best way to check for stuck buttons, is to remove the outer case and manually inspect them.

I don't think i have! Theres nothing really in the application manager that should be doing this, unless theres anything in Orange's photo thingy that is trying to scanning to connect to something, i shall have a look!
If it's not resolved today, i'm just going to re-format the phone, see if it helps.
