Sent for Repair - High pitched noise

Yesterday I sent my N95 back for repair for the high pitched noise near the LCD. Because i ordered my N95 from a different city it would've been too much trouble to try and get a replacement from that store so i chose to go to the nokia centre instead.
I'm wondering if anyone else here has sent it back to a nokia centre for repair (not replacement) and actually had the problem fixed.

Note: I stressed to the receptionist that the high pitched noise could only be heard by younger people.. I really hope the repair guy isn't some old person who won't even be able to identify the problem ><"

i think as this is a well knwon problem, they wouldnt be likely to dismiss it as not being there, simply because one person cant hear it..

I've had FOUR handsets now, the first three being replaced for a variety of reasons, and they have ALL had this high pitched noise.
Some of my friends can hear it, others cant.
I can only hear it with my left ear, as can another of my friends, so I don't know whether there is some kind of neurological difference between the hearing in your left ear and your right ear.
However - yeah, it's a problem, and I've decided I'm just going to live with it going forwards... Orange offered to switch me onto another handset but there aint nothing out there that I like the look of. **** SE for dropping the ball with the P series!

I can hear it in both ears, it just seems stronger in my left ear. I thought of living with the problem but my ears are kinda sensitive to high pitched sounds so, since it's under warranty, might as well let them try to repair it.

I had this with my first N95 from T-Mobile, noticed it straight away, before even finding these forums never mind reading about it. T-Mobile replaced the handset and the 2nd one is fine.

Yeah i read about that fix a while ago, to me it isn't really worthwhile, not because of the risk of voiding the warranty but because it doesnt actually fix the problem, it just muffles it.
I'd much rather nokia fully repair it for me ^^

I have the same problem. But my phone is also physically borken. I've sent it to nokia. The solder on one of hte buttons was minimal that it fell apart. So now that button doesnt work. I sent it to nokia on the 10th overnighted it. Called them yesterday and they said "Its in repair" the website says that. And no one could give me more info. Am i going to have to pay for a part or not, is the part on order or what? nothing at all. So i was like "So the repair department is pretty much useless since you cant tell me whats wrong even after 7 days, Cuz the website tells me its in 'repair in progress' too."

Let me know if they fix your problem.
