voice mail indicator is usually triggered by a specially coded text message fromy our provider....its most likely a provider specific setting...are you both on the same provider?

I am on t-mobile USA. I have a business cell that uses AT&T service, I will switch sims and see what happens.

well I switched sims and I put my AT&T sim and restarted the phone. The new voicemail indicator never came up , it started up like it should be, so It seems it is an issue of a specific setting with T mobile USA. I shall give them a call and get that fixed.

Thanks for the idea!

I have the same problem on my n95 using Tmobile USA.
It shows voicemail when there is none.

I will try what you said TMAC01 , but what exactly do you mean by leaving myself a voice mail...If I call myself from a different phone then how it is different than someone else calling me and leaving a message and then I going and deleting that message, which has happened quite a few times.

its not different, but i think in my case the phone somehow missed the signal to get rid of the indicator, so by sending a message and deleting it i basically was trying to get it to that.

I get it a lot on Orange here in the UK.

For me it only works if I call MY mobile number from my mobile and leave a message and delete it.

I'm sure there is a reason why, and it's to do with the SMSC firmware version having issues with S60v3 IIRC.
