does your computer detect the phone connected? are you connecting using usb cable? does PC suite detect your phone?

if you're using windows XP, here's how to check if the phone is detected by the computer.
-press the Windows Logo Key + R
-in the "Run" box, type in devmgmt.msc and press enter
-in the device manager box, scroll down to the end. should see "Wireless Communication Devices". when you expand it, there should be a couple of Nokia N95 USB entries. (Generic, LCIF, OBEX (3 of these), Phone Parent). make sure none of them are disabled

then modify PC Suite connections temporarily
-right click the PC Suite icon in your system tray
-go to Manage Connections
-in the Nokia Connection Manager, uncheck the USB box

run NSS again and check.

Still nothing

USB is being used. Device manager detects phone. PC Suite detects phone. Yet when I run NSS it does nothing. Have installed/uninstalled/reinstalled NSS numerous times.

So i managed to update to V20.... so why won't restore work?

It tries to restore my stuff, does a back to the future and goes all the way to 88% then freezes, when you check cpu utilisation its up at 99% and it stays that way for eeeeeeeevvvvvveeeeeerrrrrrr!

Arghhhhhh, to make maters worse it seems to sync your contacts last, so the final 12% is the MOST important 12% of the frickin' backup!

Now i have no contacts....yippee!
