Both the 6230 and the K750 were £300 on launch. Equates roughly to $610.

Thing is, it's how the world works (unfotunately). Not matter what you buy, a lot of times maufacturers will make it better! Cars, games consoles, PCs, take your pick really.

I'm not for one second defending what they have done or how they did it, I just think that given the speed of how the mobile industry moves on I expect my model to be outdated very quickly.

You're not serious, are you? I mean- I understand, appreciate and identify with the comments made about feeling "beta-tested" and "guinea pigged"- but are you seriously claiming that Nokia has no ethics?

Obviously you're not briefed on the history and actions of the company. They're one of the most ethical companies in the world, but as they are Finnish, it's no their way to brag about certain things- such as their dedication to the environment. Nokia is one of the most beloved brands in the world, and the most well known non-american brand in the world- for a reason.

Pseudo-ethics was probably a poor choice of words. compassion maybe would have been a better word. But good business sense may come into play here as well. If they allowed a fairly small trade in allowance towards the 95-3 they would net quite a chunk of change IMO. However that would definitely set a precedent they may not want to set. In any event in the big picture its really small potatoes..$200 or $600..we all have bigger things to worry about than that. So like I said earlier-I'm over all that. I enjoy the device and when I'm ready I'll sink another 6-700 into the next device. Hopefully Nokia's next latest and greatest. Not having 3G in BFE where I live, kinda helps me not make the plunge at the moment however

Well, there's one lesson that can be learned... and that's to ignore the N96-1 when it appears, if you don't want to get bitten twice!

thats definatly true....but i guess im not getting an N96 after what happened here ...

so tell me .. whats wrong with enabling us to exchange out N95-1 for N95-3 or maybe the 8gb with the differance of fees (if there are any..) or for an additional !reasonable! fee...they would make money out of that too ^^

then they could take all the N95-1's melt them or burn them in hell and make N96's out of them :D hehe

EDIT:
Its not that i dont like my mobile .. on the contrary ... i adore it .. but ,as i see it, its just unfair to release a mobile with great advertisement but a few bugs or dissadvantages... then a few weeks later release the exact same mobile with the fix of these bugs or "dissadvantages" .... same goes with the N93/i and mostly anything "i" 'd
