When I used their phone I felt that their N95s had a tougher build than mine and the slider was very tight compared to my loose one (both of them have the sand colour & I have plum but I don't think that makes a difference) so does anyone know anything about Nokia making tougher N95s after the V12 firmware came out. & its not just me, a lot of people said the same thing when they used my phone & my friends' N95s. My phone came with Nokia 1 year guarantee/warranty so if I go to Nokia claiming that my N95 has a loose slider will they replace it?
Also I recently upgraded my firmware to V12. Does that void the warranty?(My phone is unlocked, not from any network I bought it from Nokia). I forgot how but I set up my WLAN and it was working fine with no problems without any need of any WEP key etc. I only remember typing the IP and DNS addresses in. When I upgraded the firmware the the WLAN settings were gone & I can't seem to get it to work. Does anyone else have the same problem after ugrading to V12?
Thanks in advance for your replies. I hope Nokia replaces my phone with the tougher build one like my friends'.

As far as I know there has been no change in the way the
N95 is put together between firmware versions or any other time. I do believe that there are two different manufacturing locations, given on the label on the back of the phone under the battery, Finland and China.
Depending on how loose your slider is and how polite you are, they may change it for you. Ask if they will compare it with a new one.
A firmware update will not void your warranty as it is done using software released by Nokia to the public for that purpose.
A firmware upgrade wipes everything on your phone (but not the memory card). This includes all settings like WLAN/Wi-Fi. Some settings, like for messaging and GPRS web browsing, the phone can read back from your Network Operator's SIM card. You'll have to put the WLAN settings back yourself, I'm afraid.
