I've found that when I am typing a web address from the bookmarks screen in the browser that the browser app will close. It will happen at least once a day. Then you gotta open and re-type the address - such a pain!!

Apart from that (and the removal of the tracking feature in Maps - whats the point of having this software as part of the phone if you can't actually use it to get where you're going!!!) I'm very happy with the upgrade

Well, after playing with my (now non-bricked) v20 updated phone, I've noticed a few things.

When I first start it (and immediately after the update and memory card restore) I found the phone realllly sluggish. After it's been on for a while, it settles down quite a bit and is as snappy as I remember it.

I've had no memory full errors at all, so that's a big plus! I do get some random reboots every now and then, but no more than it used to do on any firmware.

The camera is HEAPS faster. I did notice the shutter sound is still there for me, even in silent mode. I'll have a look around to see if it can be disabled - haven't had a chance to look yet.

The Maps application is a tad annoying that they took the tracking out of it. *sigh*

I did notice that Google Maps 2.0.5 is a little odd now. If you forget which app you're using between that at Nokia Maps and use # to zoom out in Google, the phone will instantly restart. Weird!

Battery life seems to be better but I can't give a definitive answer on it. The keypress bug seems to be gone for me.

Other than that, it seems like a decent kind of upgrade.

One thing - did I see people talking about video ring tones? I can't see how you could assign them. Am I just dumb?

Active Standby Search (Internet & My Content) Not Working!

Hello All. I installed the firmware successfully and noticed improvements all around, for the most part.

However, the new Active Standby Search (Internet and My Content) function does not work at all! I click on it, but nothing happens. Any ideas?!

Do you guys think that i need to "re-install" this firmware, in the event that something buggy happened the first time around? Prior to upgrading, i backed up the phone data to the PC, and after upgrading, imported everything from PC to phone without any error messages whatsoever.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Adam

i've heard others having problems when they restore the phone settings. but there're instances for the remaining that work.

i'd recommend you just restore the contacts and the messages after a firmware update/hard reset. thats what i did personally.

The video ringtones thing is very simple really. When you go to assign a tone, there's now videos shown in the list, not just music. Just choose the one you want to use and hey presto!!, you've got a video ringtone!

Looks like an old bug is back

When I was on v 11 I had issues with my Motorola S9 headphones
They would auto link then immediately disconnect
and the sound would cut every now and again.

When I moved to v12 the above went away and everything worked.

v20 the problem is back again

any one else seen this?
