Assigning ringtones custom ringtones to contacts.
My apologies if this is pretty dumb, but I have decided to start assigning custom ringtones to certain people I know to help me identify them easier.
Small issue, via contacts list there is no option to assign a different ringtone for a contact, just a group, this is a pretty crappy way of doing it as I have about a dozen or so contacts that I wish to have different ringtones, am I really going to have to create over a dozen groups just to accomplish my task?
Someone please render assistance and confirm this or correct me?
Thanks in advance people.

Unfortunately, there's no way to do it other than with a group
To go around it, just create a group with the single contact in it, and assign a ringtone to him/her that way - It's a little bit lengthier but it gets the job done ;)

contacts > (choose contact name) > options > ringing tone > pick tune
This assigns differnet ringtones to personal contacts or am I mistaken?
This works for me.

@dayene and madcow, I assumed that is what it would be, but no option like that exists.
@Gizmoratty, I feared this was the case but thought I would get it confirmed just to make sure I was not having a "senior" moment LOL
I am using the V20 FW if that makes any difference.

I couldn't find this option on the N95-1 or N95-2, where are you seeing this?

here's a more detailed one hopefully.
if your contacts list Name display is First name Last name (this is the default if im not mistaken)
1) from the Contacts menu, go to a contact you desire
2) press Options> Open (or just press the select key)
3) now you should see your contact details (ie. Last Name, Mobile, Address, Synchronisation, etc)
4) press Options> Ringing tone
this is on verified on firmware v20.0.015, at least on my phone it has been. have fun!
