there is actually a great difference between the two:
- Raised S60 keyboard and better build too.
- Raised multimedia keys for better blind music control.
- More RAM; absolutely no need to worry about running out of RAM unless you enjoy openning up endless amounts of apps for the hell of it - even with the
N95-1's new firmware implementing demand-paging, you can still run out of RAM.. and to add to that, playing videos on the
N95-1 seemed to lag here and there with out of sync video/audio (even with the new firmware it still does it, just not as much).. on the
N95-2, I watched a whole movie (Hot Rod) without any signs of lagging or out of sync video/audio.
- Better battery life: I have been wifi'ing for an hour or so now and have only just seen 1 bar of battery die; mind you I have only charged the battery once after receiving my 8GB yesterday.
- Improved build in T9 keyboard; not sure if that's the same for everyone else with a
N95-2, but I feel the numeric keypad has improved in quality and I make less keystroke errors and actually type faster too.
- Overall build quality is much better: The slider is not loose at all but isn't too rigid/sturdy.. Also, the issue of backlight leakage on the sides of the faceplate and around the side hardware keys has gone which makes the phone look much better.
- And obviously, the bigger screen.. it makes a HUGE difference. When I first heard that the screen was 0.2" larger, I was like "pffftt.. that's nothing". Only when I compared both my
N95-1 and
N95-2 side by side did I realise I made a stupid prejudgement.. The bigger screen makes an extremely useful benefit when watching videos and reading text.. clarity and visibility is much better.
On the issue of no lense cover, yes I am quite bummed by that, but you can always find ways to protect it yourself.
