Non-branded US n95 won't update firmware
Hello,
Im trying to update my phone to FW v20. I currently have v12. I have a non branded n95 which i got from tigerdirect. Its the US version. It says im up to date but obviously im not with v12. Is it just a euro thing? Something to do with the version. Anyways, ive been waiting for a while to update and im really dissapointed. Any help would be much appreciated.

US version is not N95-1, so the firmware upgrade isn't available for that handset.

Ah, so not the US version in that case. Should just be a matter of getting the right product code - I used the Euro 1 Plum code to enable to upgrade on my N95-1.

Wouldnt the warranty be voided? That is my biggest concern.

Is changing the product code a dodgy process? I don't want to do anything irrepairable

I've changed my product code several times, no problem.
You can change the code back to the original after the firmware upgrade if you want to. Search the forums here, theres loads of advice on this topic.

I too have an unbranded N95-1. Changed my product code, flash with new firmware and changed pc back to original. Everything is working fine, no problems at all.
