Orange Mobile Firmware Update

I have owned an N95 for a while now, and am getting pretty annoyed with Orange. Many firmware updates have been released, some of which improve phone features and compatibility, and these improvements are not available to orange customers. I buy insurance from orange too, and this is invalidated if I take matters into my own hands and put the latest firmware on it.

So, does anyone either know whats going on with Orange and firmware, or have any ideas as to what to do about it?

Or is anyone else in the same situation and wants to vent a bit?

Just think about how long your contract is and weigh it up. I did it. You'll be lucky if Orange notice, if anything goes wrong with your mobile later.

A very good friend of mine ( ) has returned 4 faulty N95's to Orange for replacements, all with the latest unbranded firmware on them with no problems at all

+1 here

I have a business Orange account with 20 phones and insurance swapouts are done by a courier on the doorstep. As long as he gets a phone to put back in the returns bag - he's happy. I've never had any contact from Orange from any return I have sent.
