Active Standby Screen ADVICE PLEASE
Hi,
Please be gentle with me as I am new to Forums and to the N95-1 that I have just started using however I do have the following question (I have scanned the Forum but cannot find - using my meagre knowledge - the answer):-
On the Active Standby Screen (the main "desktop" screen I have the following :-
Top line shows time, date, sim supplier, battery & signal strengths.
Second line shows the line of icons - 6 of them - for speedy selection of a program.
The third line shows a small magnifying glass the says "Internet and My content.
Fourth line shows Calender.
Fifth line shows WLAN scanning off.
My question is How do I GET RID of the Third line? as I do not want it to be shown. ( I only want lines 1, 2, 4 & 5)
Please help if you can - at my age frustration is not good for the heart!!

Indeed, I don't bother with active standby. There are lots of 'speed dial' apps you can use for ease of opening stuff without having that nasty bit on the desktop but its different strokes for different folks!

Well, if you want a reason to start using it, I can tell you it's very useful for opening just about anything on your phone in a matter o seconds. You can set it up to browse through all of the phones applications, messages, contacts, files etc. and allows you to open them straight from there. I never liked it being there either, but I've learnt to use it every now and again, seeings as it's unremovable and will just annoy me if I know it's sitting there doing absolutely nothing :P

Yes I could just use the "normal" screen I guess but I like to see the calender entries displayed on the Active Standby Screen and I suppose I was hoping that being able to get rid of "line 3" would have given me another line for another calender entry.

That would be very interesting to here about "Gizmoratty" but please make your explanation/information very simple as the old brain is not as sharp as it used to be

Haha thats a good suggestion Giz, any features of the n95 you don't want just force yourself to use them until you're glad they're there
