As Andy correctly states, NSS will not unlock your phone.

What firmware is your handset running? Checkout my sig below on finding out how to find it.

I needed older driver for NSS to work.
I have Upgraded to V20 and removed the Rogers Branding, I gave my IME code to a guy who says he can get me unlock code for $30,
Dont know how they can do it?

I have a N95-2 Product Code 0557637 - Philippines which I just got, which came with 15.0.015, and according to the Nokia Software Update application the latest available for my phone is 20.0.016. Is version 30.0.018 only available for certain product codes that do not include mine, or Nokia isn't distributing it through their Software updater yet?

I wanted to check my phone using the link in the sticky:

Check for the latest available firmware for your phone here:

in case version 30 would be available for it, or to see what version it said was available, but when I try to go to aht link, my browser says:

Unable to render /templates/page/templateR5-A.jsp

That would be why?

I am not so sure that there is a compelling reason to upgrade from 15.0.015... what is the consensus here?
I don't see anything listed in the change list that jumps out at me as needing improvement ... maybe the automatic screen rotation. My N80 did that I think and I actually found it pretty annoying when I would accidentally activate the camera.

Yes, there is still no available v30 update for our product code, but I have debranded my phone to euro2 hoping for improvements on the phones performance..but sadly I wish I had not update from v20 fw. I find the gallery to be somehow slower as well as other 3rd party apps that I've installed, downloaded youtube videos would now show up in the gallery as broken file, and the start-up time is now slower...just my experience.

I'll just have to re-update when they release v30 for 0557637 product code to see for any difference.

I still prefer the v20.0.016 fw...I would suggest that you update to v20 for now..There is a great deal of improvements from v15 to v20, personally my start-up time decreases from ~30 to ~20secs along with the phones overall performance.

newb question.
I bought my n95 8gb already debranded with garman xt installed. What i was wondering is, if i update the software will i lose the garman xt. Its not unlocked but i have 1 of those turbo sims in it and it works perfect with my o2 sim, will i still be able to update with the turbo sim.

Thanks for your evaluation of the differences in the different versions you have used .... I think I will just leave it alone with V15 for awhile until I get used to it and see what problems I might have, and then when I upgrade it later I will be able to see the differences it really makes. I had a lot of trouble with my N80ie and this phone is sooooooo much better! Especially Home Gallery never worked reliably with the N80, and SymSMB worked sometimes but sometimes not... they have great tech support but I have had to work with them and learned more than I ever wanted to know about Network Monitor 3 trying to get that thing to work all the time with all my networked computers, while the N95 8GB just works!

Is there a way to download V20 without installing it so that if they come out with V30 for our phones I could still put V20 on it if I wanted...since you can't downgrade and I guess their update site always will only offer you the "latest" version and not a choice of versions?
