BT Broadband Talk

Hey,
BT Broadband currently provide free evening and weekend calls through the internet through their home hub. You can either plug in a telephone into the hub or use the wifi handset which is extra.

Was just woundering if anyone knew weather it was possible to use the N95 with BT Broadband Talk via Wifi to get free Evening and Weekend Calls?

Thanks.

Doubt it. Only Fusion moblies will connect with the Hub.

But, if you could get your N95 to have an IP address within the Fusion range, who knows?

For anyone interested I found this after a long google search:
Support Forums: Broadband Talk on Nokia N95 ...

You need to obtain your settings from bt.com/bbv and use the template on that forum in a new profile in your N95 Sip settings.

Then simply run Internet Tel. and free Evening and Weekend calls to landlines... when in the house

I set mine up this safty.

Accepts internet calls fine, acts just like a hub phone, but only tried ringing my landline from it and couldn't connect. Prob coz it's the same line?

Will have to try to ring someone to test it.

My apologies and thanks to Brummiesteven!

It's not for the faint hearted as the details are spread over 3 sites but, IT WORKS!

I rang my landline OK!

Hi I was going to start a new thread for this, but as some of you have already managed to do this I will post the settings below so its all in one place.

It's quiet simple really....

First Things First
Plug in your BT HOME HUB (I had already ditched mine so had to connect it back up for this step)
You then need to go to www.bt.com/bbv
login with your broadband talk number and password
Click configure your equipment (new small window pops up)
Click configure
When you get to configuration successful copy the full address bar (its pretty long) and paste it into notepad
This gives you all the information you need

Example below is mine 'XXXX' replaces my user and passwords!

http://api.home/voipsetup.api?SIPTransportProtocol=UDP&SIPTranspor tPort=5060&SIPRegistrarAddress=btsip.bt.com&SIPReg istrarPort=5060&SIPOutboundProxyAddress=sp2.btsip. bt.net&SIPOutboundProxyPort=5060&SIPProxyAddress=b tsip.bt.com&SIPProxyPort=5060&SIPPhoneNumber1=XXXX XXXXXXXX&SIPCallerName1=&SIPUsername1=XXXXXXXXXXXX@btsip.bt.com&SIPPassword1=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&SIPPhoneNumber2=&SIPCallerName2=&SIPUsername2=&SI PPassword2=&SIPHashB=bef7168c3e950f2701740c5c3f1f4 cf2&SIPHashC=e9394dcd91df190ccc3153b1f56dcab3&SIPH ashD=06b82e8b407e8136ff14898fc56ad0c3&SIPHash=bd4e 5a2bb86fef284cd3836ce726c1e4

In Yellow you see the user name1 and password1 is what you will need for the next bit.

Example settings :

Enter this in your N95. TOOLS>SETTINGS>CONNECTION>SIP SETTINGS>NEW SIP PROFILE>USE DEFAULT PROFILE

Profile name: <Whatever you like>
Service Profile: IETF
Default Access Point : <Your WLAN name>
Public User Name 441234567890 at btsip dot bt dot com assumes your UK BBT number is 01234 567890Use Compression: No
Registration: When Needed You may want to change this later to 'always'
Use Security : No

Proxy Server
Proxy Server Address: 62.239.169.196
Realm: btsip.bt.com
UserName : 441234567890
Password : <see SIPPIPPASSWORD1 in the address bar> Typically 15-18 charsAllow Loose Routing : yes
Transport type : UDP
Port : 5060
Registrar Server
Reg sever add : btsip.bt.com
Real : btsip.bt.com
Username : 441234567890
Password : <SIPPASSWORD1>
Transport type : UDP
Port : 5060

Thats it, you should now have your BT broadband voice setup on your N95 (works with N80,E-series ETC )

I can't take credit for this. This must go out to the guys on the BT SUPPORT FORUM, 'Robert Folkes' and those who that helped them.

I can now actually now use a part of what I pay for and dumping the cack that was the Home Hub.

I have set up my N95 as above, and can now make calls using broadband talk, however the calls cut off after about 7 minutes and I wondered if anyone knows why or has experienced similar problems?

Any help much appreciated
