Hello again,

I have a N95 8GB and was wondering what the everyday benefits would be of installing firmware v15?? Do I need to debrand to install? If so hows this done?

Also, does it cost to use the GPS?

The biggest benefit of v15 is that it has full FlashLite3 support (Which means you can view vlash video in the web browser - E.g. For Youtube etc.). You can read about the firmware here

Debranding isn't too big of a job, you can find the instructions to do se, here

GPS will only incur charges if you download the maps you are trying to view, while on the go. Use Nokia Map Loader to pre-install the maps. There are small charges when using A-GPS, but this is minimal

I must be proper thick!! So if I update firmware will this debrand?? What exactly is debranding? Does this mean no O2 start menau etc?? What are the benefits?

Yes mate if you debrand with a Euro1 code then the start up animation will be gone as will the theme and bookmarks in 'Web'.

As long as you don't install the complete backup of the phone you make like I did 1st time round! lol

Ah, I see where you're coming from. Yes that is the case, but I done a complete backup of the phone and then restored it after the FW update and put everything back on. I forgot to select the contacts only option!
