Open Signed (Beta)
As if there weren't enough ways to achieve the whole 'application signing' process, Symbian Signed have just opened up their new Open Signed system!! (Complete guide here - See page 11)
It is currently only availible to presently registered users (Between 0900 - 1500 GMT, Mon - Fri), but you can now sign an application right on the site itself! You totally skip the Dev Cert Request application and there's no need for other signing applications. Excellent!
1. Enter your IMEI and other Email address
2. Navigate to the SIS application you would like to sign
3. Select the capabilities the application require (Just select all of them)
4. Enter the displayed security code
5. Tick the 'Accept legal agreement' box
6. Click 'Send'
And you're done! It will provide a link to download the signed application. No mess, no fuss, no time at all!

wow that's awesome. Except for the already registered members part being that's the most complicated part of the process.
Also as I just stated in another thread. Read the little note below the captia(??) picture with the letters and numbers. Caused me about an hour of frustration the first time.

Don't worry Hoolio, there are still plenty of benefits from knowing the manual process :P
And yea, it's only limited to registered users for now, but should be readily availible for new users within the next week or two

I was talking with someone earlier about how Windows Vista was no different from 98 for example, it does all the same things but in less steps. I guess once you have an understanding of what is happening, even if the process is simplified, you still understand it better at the end of the day!
knowledge is power eh!
