Belkin FM Transmitter

I have a Belkin FM transmitter for listening to music stored in my N95 via my van's stereo through the 3.5mm jack plug. It works well except the sound is mono, but through both speakers. Altering balance on my N95 only has limited affect to which speaker is louder. You can always hear the other speaker.

Anyone got any ideas how to cure this ?

Had one of those Belkin FM transmitters, and didn't think much of it to be honest. Poor signal was my main problem with it.

I too used to have a Belkin till it died. Then I got a cheaper one, at around half the price and it is sooo much improved its not funny. Now get three times more battery life, with a few extra features and better sound quality. Wouldn't recommend a Belkin at all.

Sounds like the Jack plug is slightly incompatible with the Nokia's stereo output as the phone has a 4 wire plug and not the usual 3.

That sounds very plausible. Welcome Vic!

Not a Crystal or Silicon case with insufficient cut out clearance stopping the jack plug being fully inserted? - or even a badly formed jack plug?

If only there was a built in transmitter like LG MUZIQ phone. Maybe something to think about for the successor.

Maybe someone could do some jiggery pokery to turn the existing hardware into a transmitter. Im thinking reversing the polarity should do it, where is a sonic screwdriver when you need one...

Thankyou and welcome Vic. I tried it via the small in line remote you get with the headphones from nokia, and it worked marvelously.
