Just either open "maps" or "gps data". You may need to download your map of india. google and yahoo allso both have free map applications and there are a couple other ones. I have no idea who will give the most reliable and accurate maps of india though.
After that, you will need to have already subscribed or need to subscribe to a packet data connection like GPRS from your svc provider. now, you are ready to use gps on your n95 in India. :)

That is required only for using Assisted GPS (A-GPS), it is not required for the GPS to function if you have already downloaded to the phone the maps you need. It will take longer to lock to a position without A-GPS, but it will still work.
