I also got my to worked without Assisted GPS. I am only using integrated GPS which takes longer to lock on. I am just happy it works as I had given up before

GPS was working fine before updating, and I'm not the only one to be experiencing the same problems.

I've just bought an N82, and it's shown me how utterly pathetic the N95 GPS is. First ever GPS lock out of the box took about 20 seconds max! Every lock since then has been literally 5 seconds.

It might be enabled, but there is no access point defined by default, so if you don't sort that, it wont work.

im on my second replacement from crazy johns, the first n95 8gb the gps would intermittently work, it was not acceptable so i took it back and they replaced it with a brand new one in the box.. LOL same thing... im taking it back again for another one, but before that i will connect it to my pc and see if there is any software/firmware update available see if it fixes anything, if after the third one, im demanding a refund and changing to a much simple phone like a n73 as by then i would have lost total faith in gps on phones..

btw my problem is that i never get a lock or if i do i get a lock for only a few seconds.

btw rusty... its not true you need to have a default access point assigned, you only need that if you want to assist the internal gps to use your access point if it needs to. gps works fine without an access point. this came straight out of the horses mouth (nokia)

Depends. You should get a lock and maintain it, but with AGPS it becomes as fast at locking as a sirf3 reciever (in my expirence anyway).
