It really doesnt sound normal for it to totally NOT work. I feel for you guys, i really do.
V20.0.015.Gps would not work at all from new.I tried everything from this site with no luck.Even when it was sent for repair it came back not working. My girlfriend found this very funny because her N82 gets a lock instantly!!

I have a US version N95-3. I pick up GPS signal very easily in the United States - SF area.

I started living in Paris, for 2 weeks now, and I have yet to get a GPS lock.

i get lock on within 15 - 30 seconds from a cold start

ive used th sat nav all over the uk and have never had any troubles with it , it works very well indeed ive sold my bluetooth gps and my tomtom unit as my n95 with garmin mobile xt works very well indeed

maybe your internal antennas are broken , there was a a user on here who took his phone apart and found his gps aerial was touching the side of his phone he moved it away and his gps signal lit up straight away :-)

iam not suggesting you take your phone apart but you could print the info off and take it to a nokia service centre with you and point them in the right direction :-) they may open the phone up for you and have a look so your warranty remains intact

Just though I'd rub in that today I got a solid lock in about 5 secs from cold.

Granted I was in a massive open area with clear skies, but I was still much impressed.

I'm down in New Zealand and I use Garmin Mobile XT using just GPS (not assisted) and it's great. I find if I am within about a 5km radius of where I last used the GPS it locks in in like 10 seconds, but the further away I am from where I last used the GPS the longer it takes, normally a max of about 2-5min. However if I start it up on A-GPS it always locks in a matter of seconds.

I use Garmin to navigate me places nearly every day and it is great.
