Hmmmm, had no problems when installing the Beta, now the application does not start up at all. Installed twice via PC Suite, each time seems to complete successfully, but application does not start up. Hard reset and try again ?

Installed fine on both my N95's. i did not install via pc suite though, I just sent the sis files across via bluetooth to the phones, and installed that way, then went outside to check them out, and I have to say, im quite impressed so far.

Just tried it your way, initiated the install from the Apps Manager in the phone, waited, got to Installation Complete, but the status in Apps manager remained "Not installed". Nokia Maps still refuse to start up.

Has anyone got any feedback on the traffic-avoidance system yet? Is it any good?

Strange. It maybe the Beta release causing your problem, because I never installed the Beta release on either of mine. Maybe manually un-install, and try again?
Just to note also, just prior to installing, I opened up maps on both handsets, and waited for the gps lock, then exited, then installed the new maps.

I've managed to find a few versions of an old smart2go one, I have V11 on my phone and tried installing a couple and got 'update error'. One actually installed and when I went into Nokia Maps the bit at the beginning where it zooms into your location on the planet didn't show, it just went blank for a bit then showed the zoomed in location. I deleted e:\maps and the zooming into Earth thing came back. I guess that might indicate it's the older version of maps.
I can't guarantee anything with it though or if it'd overwrite newer versions, I haven't tried that...

I take it that version 2 still doesn't have the tracking feature? I wish they'd put that back...
I e-mailed Nokia about it and got a fairly grotty e-mail back along the lines of 'it's their decision as a business and they can do what they want' - basically charging for as many features as they can...

In another thread I mentioned having the same problem with the Beta version. Fixed by formatting the sd card. Must be something to do with the map files that I had.

Got home, fired up the laptop, installed first time (via PC Suite) without any further problems. I was previously trying to do it at work, maybe I don't have the latest PC Suite there, can't think of any other reason. Maps are OK, quick lock on position, all is good.
