Nokia Maps and Bluetooth

When N95 8gb is paired to a bluetooth device (e.g. car kit or hands-free), voice instructions are muted.
Note that this happens while no call is undergoing, just bluetooth pairing. I would expect this to happen only when you answer a call (or make a call).

Is it normally like this or I have something set wrong?

PS: If this is the way it normally works, it is something that must be corrected (in Nokia Maps or OS I don't know).

Im not sure about this one, as i dont use anything bluetooth apart from just file transfer to other phone/devices.

However, when you connect to a device, does it give you any options? For example headphones or headset?

If so, it could be worth experimenting with different ones.

Also worth checking if there is any options in the bluetooth settings.

Connectivity - bluetooth - paired devices.

Select the device and see what options you get.

When my BT headset is on (pair with phone), all sounds goes through the headset.
If BT is on only and my headset is not turn on than sounds goes through phone's speaker like normal.

Unfortunately, no options on devices or bluetooth service or paired devices.

Moreover, there is no profile for the headset or car kit; as far as I remember older Nokia's used to appear a new profile for the headset when you were connected, which is not the case now (no new profile when you are paired).

Although I have not tried yet a hands free device (only car kit), baseballfanz remarks verify the problem.

I tested also the following: paired with the car kit, music player cannot be heard. Note that N95 recognises the car kit as such (and not as a headset).

All these are unacceptable. Urgent need for Symbian update.
O
  1. S must allow all sound through device speaker even if paired with car kit. Sound must be muted only when calling.
  2. Another problem I discovered: when in drive mode you can answer calls but you cannot dial!!!

I have an inbuilt, mono-only bluetooth handsfree headunit in my car. I've now added a "bluetouch" (aux-input to HU, switches among ipod, aux-in socket, bluetooth handsfree, bluetooth A2DP (stereo) inputs). Whichever I pair the N95 with, alls sounds go through bluetooth. Fine for mp3s when paired via A2DP - crap for using the "SpeedCam" app while listening to ipod - No way to get the speedcam warnings to interrupt ipod or radio. We need an N95 option "hands-free sound to bluetooth, other sounds to N95-own speaker".
