Best map data?
Hey,
I use the nokia maps and they are great for the US. However, the data in Mexico is TERRIBLE and there is nothing for most of the Carribean and a lot of other places... How can we find out where the best map data is for a given location, and what about installation issues?
Anybody got any pointers?
Thanks,

Well, it's Teleatlas and NavTeq that supply the map data for the Nokia Maps program...
What exactly do you mean by installation issues? Can you explain what it is that you're hoping to achieve? Do you mean installing other vendors map data into Nokia Maps?

I was wondering if there were any vendors who had, for instance, more detailed maps of Mexico which would be installable on the n95... tomtom doesnt, wayfinder doesnt...

OK, yeah I see what you mean now.
Most searches seem to indicate Garmin as having good coverage, and they do have 'mobile solutions' but its going to cost you...

They support a lot of devices....
https://my.garmin.com/gmbg/start.faces
Found it wierd they listed the iphone there, (unsupported, of course!) but no mention of the N95..
However, they do support others like the N93, etc... So I'd shoot them an email and ask, you might get lucky! Although I'd guess you'll need an external bluetooth receiver of course...

i've tried installing numerous 3rd party softwares (obtained from malsingmaps.com), but non of them are able to detect N95's integrated GPS module.

Man, it really took me about a minute to scan your code :)
Nice, but the feature is slow, I almost stopped trying when my phone finally picked up your infos. It didn't work on the screen, and it was hard even after I printed it out.
