or even better...if the 8gb might not support having 2 memory cards, how about switching the 8gb internal SD for a 16gb one?

Still kind of expensive to be hacking away and removing and adding new parts.

Even if the chip supports a second sd card, the firmware may not provide options for addressing it.

i think just do away with the 8GB side of it and put back a slot in, for furture proofing :)
as N95-1 can now out do the N95-2.8GB .. in terms of space

PLUS with a card if ya phone gets screwed (like dropping it in bog etc ) ya know ya card it relitivly safe and retrievable

sound the best option for me :)

Something more easy, would be to replace the 8GB Memory Chip on the main board. for a higher capacity one, but you'd need to to be exact same size, and power rating etc.

Both ways, are stupid and pointless if you ever got it working. You should have just got the old boring N95-1 and be sitting on a removable 16gb at the mo.

I am a volonteer to try it but I don't know much about hardware + my phone is still under waranty. And I just can't help to ask the question - Why doesn't someone who understands what he is doing just replace the mem chip with a new one (doesn't need to be >8Gb, one can try with 1gb to see if it's working alright) and if it's working and all leave it, if it isn't place back the 8gig mem chip. What can possibly go wrong?
