Whats the type of casing paint called?

Whats the name of that rubbery paint? Can it be purchased in a can? Or is it some kind of non paint finish?

Little more info would be nice, there are lots of types of rubber paint out there on the market.

What do you intend to do with it.....?

omg sorry guys. I was referring to the paint found on the back and sides of the n95-2 8gb.
I am thinking of repainting my eee with it, as it looks pretty nice, and its hard wearing.

Come to think of it, its found on a lot of phones. Just off the top of my head i know the moto razr v6 maxx has it, and so do some of the palm pdas. Its like paint mixed with rubber or something. I really like the look/feel of it.

Cheers brownbox. Moved back to hardware hacks.

Im not sure about the outer casing coatings, I always thought they were maybe dipped, or treated with this coating during the injection moulding process.

I think it would be much cheaper to buy a new back for your phone .....plus you would get a top class finish.

Plus i would say they are made by injection moulding and not painted/sprayed.

there is a product called 'plastidip' which i use at home
its comes in both spray and tin forms, you just spray the surface you want to coat and when dries it leaves a rubbery feel

try it , its good stuff

this plastidip stuff looks good. Although im wondering, how thick would the stuff be? It looks like its made for tools and stuff, so im guessing its pretty thick? Or is it similar to regular paint.

I wouldnt paint an EEE with it unless you have a backup case/housing

as the "plastidip" will wear off after a month or less of heavy use.
