Well... You could take a look at the 'TIPS' section (See the header to all pages)

But frankly, if removing the back cover is presenting difficulties, I doubt that carrying out this particular modification is such a good idea! ;)

I just picked up a N95-8GB (North American) and can confirm that in silent mode, there is no shutter sound.

Just tried this on my Aussie 3 Branded N-95, the circuit was a bit different, it had an extra line, but cut the furthest line like the one pointed out in the diagram and it worked fine. Thanks for the guide!

My speakers have started to crackle and the shutter noise sounds horrible. Any new fixes for disabling the shutter sound? Anyone successfully flashed to Euro firmware?

Guys,

I am using N95 8GB and have got one easy trick (Please dont do anything like this thread..[DIY] How to disable shutter sound and red LED on Nokia N95 8GB & N95)

Just go to Menu/Tools/General/Personalization/Tones and set Warning Tone "Off" You are done. I have done it and there is no irritating camera sound.

I am from Mumbai and I have got N95 8GB firmware V30.

all the best

hmm theres a easier way of doing this , i drew on the area with a permanent black marker and pasted a thin black plastic on it , no more LED light. I was worried about doing surgery on the phone.
