photos disappeared after transferring to laptop

I hope someone can help me!

I used PC Suite to transfer some photos from my phone to my laptop. I opened PC Suite, went to File Manager, found and selected the images I wanted, and clicked Edit and then "move to folder". I chose my folder for the files to be moved to, and the computer showed the pop up box with the files being transferred.

Then I went to the folder I had selected and they are not there. They do not appear under search either! They cannot have just disappeared! The computer showed them being moved, they must be somewhere. Any ideas???

No, they aren't on the phone anymore. I usually copy them, but this time I thought I would move them to get them off my phone. I never dreamt they would disappear!

try doing a search a search in windows for *.jpg
set it to search hidden folders as well
this should find every jpg picture on your laptop
view them as thumbnails to help you identify them
if they are on your laptop, then this should find them

Hi there...

Have a look in MY Documents then Pictures, while you are there look in MY RECEIVED FILES some times pictures go straight to this file.

Just a thought..

I allways use bluetooth to transfer pics, very easy a fast as well. Send them over and they should go straight in to BLUETOOTH EXCHANGE folder within MY DOCUMENTS....Thats if you have bluetooth on your pc.

If not for about £8.00 you can get a bluetooth dongle thing and there you have it your pc is bluetooth.......

Bluetooth Rules OK.....well i think so any way.....

Hope this helps....

If your pics were on your memory card and you haven't written anything else to it since, then they are still there...

Use 'Recuva' to recover them! ;)

Glad to hear that it worked for you...

PC-Suite can occasionally "Work in mysterious ways" ;)

Safer and faster to use 'Mass storage' mode, so that your card shows as an external drive on the PC and then Drag & Drop or Copy & Paste to the PC... THEN delete files from the card, after checking them on the PC.

Safer and faster still to put the card in a card-reader, plugged into the PC and go from there. I never use PC-Suite if I can avoid it!

Remember that a simple 'delete' on either the phone or PC leaves the files intact. It doesn't remove them, all it does is tell the device that the space that they're in can be written to, so if you don't write anything further to the card or PC, the files are still there and can be recovered easily.
