warning

I recently used nemesis to change the code on my n95, which had vodaphone version 14 on it.
Basically i fried the phone, it wouldn't turn on, you know the score.
I took it to phones 4u to get it repaired. They sent it off to their repairer who said it would be a week to ten days. 15 days later i phoned the repair shop and was told that I had installed illegal software by changing the code and that my phone was irreparable. They kindly offered to dispose of the phone for me, or i could pay £9 to get the dead phone back. I paid the money. The phone came back today, with a note saying the phones fault had been rectified, and sure enough, it works perfectly. am I just being paranoid or does this sound like a scam. I wonder what would have become of my "dead" phone had I agreed to them "disposing of it".

paying £9 was cheap to fix your phone and i'm almost sure that no one will dispose their n95 just like that :) that is weird though if that's their protocol. or maybe you got a nice the technician who just fixed it anyways. i don't know how it works over there and maybe some members here can share if they've been asked the same way. :)
