Replaced screen, but something's wrong!

Hey guys. I just replaced my N95's (N95-1) screen with one I purchased from ebay.
Unfortunately, when I turn on my phone, the screen doesn't seem to be coming on. As well as this, none of the front navigation keys (up down left right, action buttons, call, hangup) are lit either, despite the number keys lighting up, and I can hear the startup tone.

I tried putting in the broken screen back in, but this has no effect either. I'm just scared that all this money for the phone as gone to waste.

Thanks for your time, I hope some of you have some ideas about whats up.

Was the phone working fine in your possession prior to the screen breaking.?

What colour is the water damage indicator under the battery?

Do you know what the current firmware of the phone is?

What is the part number of the screen you purchased from eBay? Do you know if its the one specifically for Orange N95 handsets, or the other one.?

Welcome to the forums.!

Hey, thanks for the welcome/reply. I'll answer the questions in order.

I've owned the phone since January, and broke the screen while it was in my possession while the screen was broken, it was still possible to operate the phone, as it was just cracked, and there was a portion of the screen that still displayed things.

I'm not really sure what this water damage indicator is? But there is a white strip/sticker thing under the battery next to the sim slot. Is that it?

I'm unsure of the firmware to be honest. It's a T-Mobile phone, and I haven't updated the firmware since I bought it, if that helps.

The auction doesn't seem to list a part number, here's a link if it helps

Thanks again

Ok. Water damage indicator sounds fine.

Your firmware will be quite old, and would benefit from an upgrade, but obviously we need to sort your issue out first.

Can you view the phones content using the TV out cables?

Did you check the new lcd next to the broken one to make sure the numbers matched. There are two types of lcd, and although they both work, one states that the firmware has to be above a certain version to work.
