Exclamation Light Behind Keypad & Font Problems

Hi everyone,

I have the N95 8GB, everything seems to be working fine, but I have noticed a few things that I'm not too sure of:

- This happens from time to time, not often, however, when I'm writing a sms, or when I push the slider up, the light behind the key pad turns on, however, turns off after a few seconds making it hard to type a message at night. I push the slider down and up again, it comes back on and it's fine. Sometimes the light just turns off, but the LCD screen light is still on and the light is still on behind the keys that include the answer and hang up key. But it doesn't do it often, just here and there if that.

- The other thing is that, where it gives me figures for my phone, say you write a MMS, it should read 1.5 KB, instead it reads 1[]5 KB... When I got the phone, it was fine, 1.5 KB, but now the DOT . is replaced with a box []. I'm not sure if an application I installed did this, but is there a solution to bring it back to the normal way? Seems to be a font problem.

Sorry for the long post guys, I thought I'll make sure you know everything so nothing is ambigous.

I appreciate the help,

- justmike

Welcome to the forums Mike, your first issue sounds like a problem with your light sensor, which is next to your secondary camera, and senses daylight, or any light in a room, and determines whether to illuminate the key pad lights or not bases on light available.

If your N95 is still under warranty, you may want to get it replaced, but first, you could try removing all your installed applications, back them up, and reset your handset to factory settings, and see if that cures the problem.

If it does, then install your applications again, one at a time, whist inbetween installing each one, check the keys, and even while your at it, check your sms fonts. It could be down to an installed Theme with different fonts.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I might see how that light sensor goes from now on, if it keeps on happening, I might as well try the reset.

Also, the theme I'm using is one that came with the phone. I'm guessing it's down to an application I installed called 'QuickWrite', because that changes the font.

I'll report back when I have time to do it!

Thanks again!
