battery Issue, Please Help!
Ok, I am having some issues with my battery for my N95-2. I bought one of those desktop chargers on ebay, it came with an extra battery (which was fake), a car and usb charger. I never really used any of them, until yesterday. I decided to try out the fake battery, which is just smaller capacity battery labeled as a BL 6F. Well that one worked. I then decided to place my battery (original one that came with phone) into the desktop charger, and it looked like it was charging. All was going great until I placed by original battery back into my phone, and it wouldnt turn on. So now I'm stuck using the cheap ebay battery since my original one is not working in the phone. My best guess is that the desktop charger somehow ruined my original battery, am I right in assuming this? If my original battery is ruined, which I'm guessing it is, where is the best place to purchase a new one, at a reasonable price?
cliffnotes- used ebay desktop charger to charge original BL 6F battery. when battery placed in phone, doesnt work.

Seems strange it would ruin it.
Have you tried putting original battery into the phone and using the normal charger ?

Yes I've tried that and it is still unresponsive. When I put in the ebay battery, it says its charging (while plugged into the normal charger) but with the original nothing happens.

Sounds like something has gone wrong within the genuine battery, which is strange from a cheap charger.
If you've tried charging it in the phone, USB, and car charger with no luck. You might as well just chuck it then.
Thats got me baffled.
Cant think what it could be, maybe the desktop charger failed and used to much current or something ?

Batteries ...any battery had to charged with the exact combinations of Volts , Hz and Ma ..
If the combination on your ebay charger doesn`t match what`s on the original charger It will ruin the battery I am afraid.

You haven't got much tolerance when it comes to charging
Volts need to be the same as the rated voltage +/- 1% Overcharging by more than 1% will damage the battery, undercharging will reduce the capacity.
HZ doesn't matter as it's DC
Charging current "ma" needs to be around about 1C of the batteries rated capacity or it risks overheating.
More info here
I would say the battery has been screwed, are you sure the contacts are ok and not bent / damaged? Can you try it in another phone?

The desktop charger was plugged in via usb charger to my computer, if that helps. I've checked the contacts on the phone and on the battery, both seem to be in the same condition as before. I would try it out on another phone, but no one I know has a N95.
I'm assuming that the battery is worthless now, so I'm looking for places where I can purchase one because the cheap ebay one I'm using now is awful. It was fully charged this morning, I made one phone call and now its almost dead. Are there any places where I can find a reasonably priced BL-6F?
Heres a link to a similar charger in question, if that is any help.

That's the same charger that I use regularly.
I've got one in work and one at home.
TBH, I don't think I've tried to charge the OEM battery in the slot, just in the phone with the spare in the slot and from this thread, I'm never going to try it. lol.
There are apparently OEM BL-5F and BL-6F batteries on ebay for peanuts with the holograms etc. But I think these have been discussed before and as with everything, you get what you pay for.

Remember that charging your battery via USB will take a lot longer than charging it from the mains.
Try charging your OEM battery in your phone for a few hours with the phone switched off.

I left the phone charging overnight, as you said , with the phone off. I was hoping I would get some result, but sadly I didn't. I've already purchased a new BL-6F from mobilecityonline, hopefully it is a genuine battery. I've pretty much given up on this one. Thanks for all those who posted.
