What version of firmware are you running on your phone?
press *#0000# to find out, and then edit your profile to include your phone model and firmware version.
And welcome to the forum.

It may pay to save EVERYTHING from your mass memory onto a folder on your PC, and then format the mass memory. Then i'd do a quick virus scan of that folder on the PC and if clean, transfer it all bck to the mass memory.
Dont worry, you wont have any viruses FROM your phone, but a file or two that you transferred to your phone MAY be corrupted, then again maybe not....

Yeah sounds like a corrupt file to me... didn't have any disconnections or anything funny happen while copying music?

is there a 'for dummies' guide anywhere for to how to do this without turning the phone into an expensive paperweight? have been browsing the forum since saturday, i dont think i've seen anything...

then... what if it isnt this, can the OP, if reading, please comment? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

For info it's a Vodafone UK 8GB, V20.0.016
