Why does my N95 consume 0,77W when idle?

My N95 consumes ~0,77 watts when idle, resulting in only 5-6 hours of battery life. This guy's N95 only consumes as little as 0,08 watts when idle (which I guess is normal for a working N95?).

I have disabled all unnessecary stuff - Bluetooth, WLAN, 3G etc., killed all "invisible" tasks, set the display light to a minimum, chosen a dark theme and so on.

I have 2 batteries - the one that came with the phone about 2 years ago, and a brand new one. Both lasts only about 5 or 6 hours when fully charged. Still, when comparing my Nokia Energy Profiler chart against his, my phone - for some totally bizarre reason - eats the battery 10 times faster than his.

I have also dismantled it to check for stuck buttons or other physical electronic issues, but didn't find anything that looked suspiscious.

Does anyone have a possible solution to this extreme power consumption?

Welcome to the forums, thread approved, sorry for the delay.

Interesting question. Are you running the same firmware as this guy? (Not yet taken a look at the link)

Have you searched for any similar threads/posts on this subject.?

Be sure to update your user profile, to include your N95 Model, and its current firmware.

Thank you, Micky :) I believe he is running FW v20, and I just updated to v21.0.016. I have spent several days searching the entire web, trying to figure this out, but all I see is people recommending to disable the powerhogs like BT, WLAN, 3G and GPS like I already have done. I have also killed the hidden Log task aswell, so the only thing is running is "Standby" and "Energy Profiler"...

Well looking at the article in that link, he is indeed on V20. Maybe its something to do with what is actually installed on the device, not sure.

Its a good question.

Nope your not alone, There are many threads on here about engergy wastage and 1 i seem to remember was about the gallery or camera button sticking. So it was a constant drain on the battery and of course, wasnt an app you could see/close........

None of the buttons are stuck. I have taken off the back cover while running Energy Profiler and checked the buttons - consumption is still the same, only now it has rised to about 0,93/0,95 watts.

I'd say there's a definite problem with your hardware if there's no stuck buttons and no apps running. Did you ever get it wet?

Have you ever done a hard reset? This will definatly eliminate any software and mean your phone has a definate fault.
