Slider phone answer.

guys. heres the problem

the only people who will notice this issue are the ones who were using the old version of firmware and then upgraded to the new version....

Please let me know your comments on this.

when a call comes in, you can open the silder to reveal the keypad and the call answers... to hang up you can close the slider...

However after the firmware upgrade from 10.0.0.18 to 11.0.0.026 you can answer the phone with the slider function, but when you want to hang up the phone you cannot close the slider.... when you do, the phone call remains active.....until you push the red hang up button....

this defeats the purpose of the slider....

anyone else having this issue.

Richard.

I dont think closing the slider hung up the call with 10.0.018 either did it?
I remember trying it a few times with the old firmware and nothing happened.

closing the slider did NOT end the call. Maybe you thought that because the other party ended the call so you didn't have to end the call.
Anyway, I find that a good feature because if I want to use loudspeaker, i don't have to keep the slider open.

Closing the slider ends calls on my N95 (original Orange UK firmware).

Closing the slider on my original Orange UK firmware definitely doesn't end the call, I'm using 10.0.018.

That would be stupid to do, hanging up when closing the slider. I mean, there should be a setting for people who need that, but in my case I would hate to hang up on the other person by closing the slider. Why? Cause I use the phone a lot (talk time) and in the mean time I also need to check on a contact info, or to add a note and so on ... and after I do that I just place the phone back into my pocket. I always use a bluetooth headset and I do not need the phone open to talk. But I do open/close the phone sometimes several times during a call. Like today: a had to reopen a text msg to read the account number (while at the bank to make a deposit) from somebody while talking to his sister (she was telling me how much to deposit and etc...). I take the phone from my pocket, read the acct no and then close it and back to my pocket.

Just yesterday I was driving and a friend called me asking for directions, I kept talking to him while using the Maps to locate his destination and give him directions.
