No sound with SIP?

Hi Guys,

I set up VOIPStunt with the N95 built-in SIP client. It connects via wifi and i can see the SIP connection is registered successfully(world with a phone on it logo).

When I try to make a call, it dials no problem but I never hear anything, and the other caller never hears anything either.

Does anybody know what could be wrong?

Ben

Hi fldude99,

Port isn't blocked, and I've tried on numerous wifi connections with no joy. I did notice on my sip provider website that codec GSMFR (13.2 kbps) is unavailale...is that maybe what the SIP in N95 uses?

Gents,

I've got a similar problem with voipstunt (except i don't get a dialing tone).

Found this app on Nokia last night that, I think, allows you to change the codec

Resource information: SIP VoIP Settings

and the user guide SIP VoIP Settings User Guide
If I get chance, I'll it a go later today

Cheers

Solved it but not by doing this.....

The default codec is G711 and this seems to fit with VoipStunt.

Resolved by changing the proxy server protocol to UDP and the registrar server protocol to TCP.....
HTH!

Using a combination of posts from different forums, I've finally got SIP working on my N95 8GB via VoipStunt! Thanks mthompson for the final piece of the jigsaw.

For the sake of others searching after me, it started with "unable to connect to connection server" error.

Here are the settings, including mthompson's advice about UDP/TCP, that got me up and running. For the record, I'm on the 3 network.

Default access point: Your preferred wireless network
