Hi - I have a similar problem. I got the
N95 8Gb a week ago and, while the phone is great, I can't get it to connect to my PC using the USB cable. Initially, when I installed PC Suite using the CD-ROM that was provided, I ticked "search for upgrades" which searched for and downloaded more recent versions of the software. However, after installation, when I tried to connect the phone, a popup box came up that said:
Found New Hardware Wizard
Cannot Install this Hardware
There was a problem installing this hardware Nokia
N95 8Gb
An error occurred during the installation of this device
The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name
Click Finish to close the Wizard
which doesn't make sense - I don't use any service of that name.
I tried plugging it into a different USB port. No luck.
Some of the comments in other forums seem to suggest that there may be a problem with the software upgrade, so I uninstalled everything, shut down my computer, started up again and reinstalled the software - this time without ticking "search for upgrades" - i.e., installing only from the CD-ROM. Same result.
Any ideas? Any help whatever wd be greatly appreciated. There's not much point having such a great phone with so many features if you can't connect it to the computer.
One of the earlier posters, jacko95, said, "i was promted to to connect my phone by a separate wizard and i did..this solved my problem..." Can you please elaborate, jacko95? What was the separate wizard?
Thanks for any suggestions - if you can help, as much detail as you can supply wd be great.
