Right, where do I begin.. (great site for a great phone btw!)
Two weeks or so ago somone bumped into me causing me to drop my phone. Normally I have it in a case, but was just getting out of the car. I picked up the phone and continued my convo..
After getting inside I noticed the top panel near the power button had taken a real beating and had deformed to the extent that the slider no longer worked fluidly and was being jammed. The frame was also scratched too.
Anyways, after looking around I decided to ge one of the newer seemingly better quality kits from ebay for the phone - a totaly conversion of frame, housing, top, bottom and the keyboards etc..
Having worked in it for years repairing all manner of electronics I carefully took the device apart using a partial guide from here for the bits that corresponded and my common sense / the
N95 service manual for the rest.
So I had it stripped down and refitted in no time, carefully put it all together booted it up and all seemed well.. apart from the fact hte mic had stopped working..
I checked the service guide and it specifically states to be replaced with a new one on refitting of it. SO basically now I am having to used the headphones that came with it to make calls!
Don't get me wrong its not some sob story, I've bought a replacement mic off of ebay, which should be here in a couple days - but have I missed something simple?!
Looking to your expertise for guidance!
