thanksss man!!!
WiFi does take a lot out of the battery, I was uploading some pics to Flickr the other day and noticed the battery drain jumped to around 1W. Doing that for extended periods will take a lot of juice out. Just remember it's still a small battery so the more intense things you make it do the less it will last. It's like a laptop, how many people can say their laptop lasts for a full day of use?

Thumbs up

Very useful, Thanks for that info.
I had a similar problem yesterday, i was on the bus home and saw it had 5 bars, then all of a sudden 30 minutes later it only had 2 bars then 1 bar left 10 minutes after.
But this sort of problem only happened to me once or twice since i got my handset like 6 months ago. I also checked if there was a stuck button or anything else but everything was fine.
I guess it was only one of those wierd things.
Cheers!.

Hi, how do you check if a button is stuck? Also how do you open the casing like it's shown in the picture.

Install Energy Profiler..and if you're getting values(consuming more power),more than the usual...one suspect might be the stuck key.

Tip after installing the Install Energy Profiler prog .....

disconnect the usb lead connecting you to your PC via PC Suite .....

before running it .

otherwise the power drain is exaggerated !

Right - Im certain im getting this problem. Sometimes, my power bars will decrease at a somewhat normal level (i.e. the phone will last about a day of normal use). More often than not, however, I am down to one bar just 3-4 hours after a full charge. My use doesnt change (a little music and 3g on the way into work, usually), but battery consuption varies tremedously.

After reading this thread, I downloaded the energy profiler to try and help me fix the problem.I fully charged the phone while it was powered off, I took off the case and checked all the buttons i could see, gave it a thorough 'blow clean', then booted up. Without running any apps, I checked my power estimate in energy profiler: 8hours, and decreasing fast. Something defiantely not right.

So I repeated the process again (not charging again, just the decasing and blowing) but this time, I also went through every button clicking it about 10-20 times, hoping to free up a stuck button. I booted the phoen up and opened energy profiler - This time it was 17hours, and rising. I left it alone for a little while to get a clearer reading, and it read 25 something hours.

Great i thought, problem fixed. Sadly not, however, as I still get the problem more often than not. Its causing me much distress, as I love this phone but with such an unpredictable battery I cannot use it to anywhere near its full potential.

My problem seems to be identifying *which* button, if any, is causing me the problem. Ive tried depressing every button with the energy profiler open, in the hope that the button I press that does not raise the graph will be the one that is continually depressed, if you see what I mean. Unfortunately, even when the profiler is displaying only 8hours after a full charge, none of the buttons seems to be continually depressed using this method/

I am at a loss. Do any n95users know of an app that could help me, perhaps something that shows every single running process on the phone? Is it possible its just a bad battery all along? Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks,

is

I just got a replacement N95, and found that if you charge the phone while it is off then it will last a lot longer! Also I had restored my backup, but something was causing my phone to eat battery at 0.7W. So I reflashed and did not restore the backup and not it only uses 0.2W with FW V20.

Still need to send the phone back as the light sensor is broken. The keypad lights always come on even during the day and side buttons do not light up, plus it says my phone code is invalid! Stupid carphonewarehouse, tis a shame as the phone had no wobbly slider, no creaking keys are anything!
