Getting some interesting results with this app ...

For instance, I just fired it up and then started up the music player. As you would expect, the lifetime dropped from approx 18 hours and levelled at about 8 during the playing of the song.

I then killed the music player and would have expected to see the battery life rise again (it was only playing for about 3 mins); but it didn't rise much beyond 8.5 hrs.

So I then turned off Energy Profiler and started it again immediately (no reboot) and the readig has rocketed to about 25 hrs at idle on a 1/2 full battery (according to the Nokia battery meter on the home screen).

Just how accurate is this thing? Is this normal behaviour?

* * UPDATE * *

Using this baby I think I have got to the bottom of my poor battery issue :-)

Two words - PUSH EMAIL!

I had this set up using IMAP auto retrieval from a gmail account. Turning that off has seen the readings for est battery life double!

Perhaps I will not be using Push email anymore.

For the record, using SEVEN (push email client) was far better than using the in built IMAP email config but it still eats battery.

So here's hoping my problem is sorted, as I was charging 2-3 times a day with moderate use!

Mods: I know this is a duplicate post but it was relevant to both my threads - honest guv!

That'd do it... Anything that has a continually active packet connection will drain the battery alot faster... Blackberry's and Windows Mobile devices included...

Also a couple of things worth mentioning here:

USB connection will HAMMER your battery... I'm not sure why, but I've found it to personally be my biggest drain

3 Users: I'm not sure how it works in other countries but here in Australia 3 have an agreement with Telstra to use their towers while roaming... So if you're not in an area where 3 has coverage, you'll find you're actually connected to the Telstra network... If the 3 signal drops to a certain strength, it'll roam to Telstra, and may jump between the two networks which'll also use a fair bit of battery power... Particularly when driving...

Naturally, and I was quite prepared to forfeit some of the battery life but not to the extent of having to charge two or three times a DAY!!

SEVEN doen't drain the battery AS much but as you would expect, it's still better to do away with push email entirely.

Any reason why when i run the energy profile app that it shows 4 Volts in the top right corner instead of something close to 3.7v? faulty battery? update firmware? I just found out about this site last night and right now my firmware is
V15.0.015
11-12-07
Rm-320
Nokia N95(22.01)

I have an N95 8GB and this stuck button issue did help my battery a whole lot, iw as getting 7-8 hours initially then i did this and now im getting 15hours ish. But theres a red dot flashing next to the 4V like something is wrong or something so if anyone could elaborate, that'd be great. Thank you!
