Slider Problems

Ok well im having problems with the slider, when its closed the backlights turns on, when its slid up to show the keypad the backlight turns off, when its closed it turns back on and when slid down to show the multimedia keys, the backlight turns back on as well, its not like it slowly disappears, as soon as the click, the light turns off, as if the switch was turned off, anybody have this problem?

I woulkd see if you could change it for another under the warrenty as theres clearly something wrong.

Maybe a software update might fix it.

do you know if nokia will still provide warranty to it, if its a finland phone, but is over here in the states? and its weird because it was working fine, then all of a sudden it changed, like u can slide the phone up half way and almost til u hear the click and the backlight will still be on but as soon as u here the click it turns off.

yea. maybe a firmware upgrade might help.

you'll need to download the nokia software updater and check if there's any updates for your firmware. the latest one is v20.0.015, but it might not be available for all product codes yet.

before performing the upgrade, backup only your contacts and messages using the nokia pc suite

if there's no upgrade available, you might want to change your product code. refer to this guide. but this may void your warranty, if your phone is branded. it shouldn't void the warranty with nokia though.

did that one just come out? the last time i updated my firmware was around 6months ago and it is a o2 branded phone

I think your ribbon cable might have a split in it. intermittent connection depending on it's position. what does everyone else think ?
