n95 virus/malware?!?!?!
there’s a big problem with my phone. all of a sudden when i turned my phone on, when on active standby it will move ‘left’ and ‘right’ on the directional pad, multimedia button, play music, forward song all on its on (in a continuous random order). when you try to dial or stop a program or do anything for that matter, it just does of the things mentioned (ie if u try to hold menu button, press “c” to close music player, it will go back to active standby). i tried reinstalling the firmware over NSU. that didn’t help. Is there another way to try to fix this?

you need the virus checker from f-secure, just download it and install and run, its got a free trial that SHOULD remove the problem (it sounds very much like my old N80 when that got virussed!!)

If all else fails, hard-reset the phone (*#7370#) and ONLY restore your phonebook... Nothing else! ... Rebuild the phone as though it was a new device.

Sounds more like stuck keys or water damage than a virus.

i can't install anything or run anything because it keeps pressing buttons. so it will close anything i open (ie menu). i hard reset the phone already as well. no water damage, i even checked the white sticker behind the battery.

if you've done a hard reset, most likely its a hardware problem. i'd head down to the NSC to get it serviced if its still under warranty

I don't think steven has been with us in the last nine months. I would guess he took it to a service centre, which is what you should do as well, if you have already tried all above suggestions without success.
