Not All Music Showing in Music Player

My 8GB arrived yesterday, and it's great! ...although I do have a problem!

I copied a few albums over to E:/Sounds/Digital (I have a Mac so I can't use the PC Suite), and it took a while, but it added all of them - about 100 songs or so. When I restarted my phone though, now it's only showing 55 songs and doing a 'refresh' does nothing.

I can see the files are still there in yExplorer (and it can play them when I click on them), but they are just not showing in Music Player. :(

Any ideas? I REALLY do not want to mess about with updating the firmware (I currently have v11.0.026 and I know that latest is v15 - although no idea if I can update it as I'm with 3) as I've spent all day yesterday customising and adding applications etc to it!

After some Googling I came across the following solution:

Delete "mpxv1.mpd" and "pcv5.mpd" from "E:\private\101FFC31".
Delete "harvesterdb.dat" from "E:\private\101ffca9".
Restart Music Player (which takes a very long time as it rebuilds the library).
Refresh.

It took a long time but it seemed to work! How long they will stay in there may be another matter! :)

i put about 2000 songs in my phone and it wasn't showing in the music player... but now it's updating... good info. :)

Hi everyone,
I just got my new Nok N95 8Gb Yesterday, I too, have have the same problem as above but with a further 2 problems, I tried the fix above, but I cant access 'Data transfer' it comes up with an error message like 'Mass storage in use, unable to connect' something like that, but prob 2 hooked up using 'PC Suite' but i cant find the Private folder, can anybody shed any light?

Connect via 'Data Transfer' mode...The private folder is only visible when your phone is connected via USB/Data Transfer..Make sure that in your SMS settings you're using the 'Phone Memory' not the 'Mass Memory'.

Messaging>Options>Settings>Other>Memory in use>to phone memory..

I also have this problem with the old N95.

Have updated to v20 firmware

have formatted memory card

have done the above, deleted the 3 files. Opened music player and only file it picks up is the one already stored on the phone.

Any suggestions?
