Sim card does not read

My N95 8gb keeps giving me sim failed to register and install sim card almost every day. If I leave it on all night when I get up in the morning it says install sim card or registration failed. Sometimes it seems to have shut it's self down and I need to remove the battery and reinstall it to make the phone work.
I'm getting pretty fed up with it now and yesterday after 5 sim failures in an hour with full signal strength I was ready to throw it out of the car window and get myself an LG Viewty instead.
Is this a phone or provider problem as the provider says " It's normal, just reboot it"!!! Normal????

it's not normal. ask your service provider for another sim card.
