Multimedia Message Problem

I cannot send picture messages. When I try it gives me a "Fail" response and the message "Packet Data connection not available".
When I go to Menu - Messaging - Options - Settings - Multimedia Messages, there is a red asterisk beside the "Access Point in use" . There are only two options here - "Vodafone MMS and "Vodafone Live!".
This red asterisk obviously points to some problem. But what?
Text message work ok. I have upgraded to V 15.0.015 a few days ago. I'm not sure if this problem existed previously as I only recently bought the phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Send a message via MSN to Gizmoratty
That asterisk you are seeing, is simply to tell you that the field needs to be filled. Make sure that you have 'Vodafone MMS' selected.

If it's still not working, go here and follow the steps to make sure you have the correct settings

Yea I done all that. Double checked on the Vodafone site for the settings, followed the instructions on the Nokia site, to no avail.
I've sent off an email to Vodafone so am hoping to hear from them. If not the phone is going back tomorrow.
BTW, what is the button on the front of the phone with the small picture of a pen supposed to do. Mine does nothing.
Thanks for your speedy replies.

Hi jer1ch0,

The problems that you're experiencing with picture messaging could be caused by two things.

The first will be, like many other have stated, is the settings in your phone. I have pasted the configuration guide below so you can check these in the phone.

The second is that there may be a problem with your account, for example a MMS bar. Once you have checked the settings try to send a picture message to see if it sends. If you continue to have problems would it be possible for you to email me so I can look into your account.

To get in touch simply complete Vodafone's online contact form. Please ensure that all the fields are complete to enable me to access your account. Please also include the code FIT135 so that the email comes to my department.

I hope you manage to get the problem resolved.
