Exclamation Buyer beware of early N96 sales on ebay.

The N96 will be available around the 3rd quarter (probably September), so baring this in mind, any n96 you see on ebay, will more than likly be fake.

Heres a phone, already listed as an N96

N96 PDA MOBILE CELL PHONE DUAL SIM/BLUETOOTH MP3/MP4 on eBay, also, Mobile Phones, Mobile Home Phones (end time 02-Mar-08 20:01:00 GMT)

Im sure there will be scammers out there trying to sell no existent N96 handsets too, by using Stock photos..

Buyer beware peeps.

Even though many of us know what the N96 looks like, many don't.

This photo is of a fake advertised as an N96, and looks nothing one. Although Nokia, is not mentioned anywhere, some people will get dupted

Thing is, they haven't mentioned nokia anywhere in this so i bet it would be hard to report them!
Though it's understandble how novices will get caught.

And we all know what i think...if ur trying to buy a top of the range moby for cheap on ebay, u will get scammed most of the time! Try a reputable retailer or a contract, or if u dont have the money...JUST WAIT AND SAVE, and dont b so bloooomin impatient!

The seller is not violating any laws. He is selling a legit product. Reporting him will get you nowhere.

Let's not forget, these phones do actually work. I despise them in every way but you need to be careful what you report and why. If it says 'Nokia' then take 'em down, otherwise you don't have a leg to stand on.

True they havent put a brand on there so would be hard to report the seller, but unfortunally there will be people out there who wont know the difference and buy.
You can see in his feedback the mp4 players werent a good product.

Spot on salada2k - we must be very careful what we do or say about any eBay trader - be it buyer or seller - as I know from experience - good I might add - how easy it is to take out a case against someone for making a statement on the internet !!! It will be held against not only the person making the statement but also the "management" of the site that posted the comments.

Cool

you can report it as a suspicious item ,

and ebay MIGHT look at it .......

if only one person reports it when prob no action ....... if 20 report then ?????????

Like most things in today's society it is easer to do nothing !

people can make a difference some times , yes report it here .... yes tell friends , ........... but hound ebay if its wrong.

Ralph

the thing is this guy in NO WAY says this is the nokia N96. He states the brand as CECT and it might be a CECT N96. He's in no way trying to screw people over, he's simply selling a phone labeled N96 and I don't know if it really is a N96 or not but I know it's NOT a Nokia N96 but it might be a CECT N96.....
