Interesting view on Nokia going wrong.

Came about after viewing this on the Reg: The great British iPhone mystery | The Register

Personally, I think Nokia are slacking badly. We were discussing how Nokia should have done things long ago.

The way contacts are used. Having spent billions (yep, billions) on Navteq and mapping, you'd think there would be better integration of the 2.

S60 is fast falling behind, and the best example of how the makers are failing is the calender issue.

You have long been able to put birthdays into contact details, but it doesnt integrate this into the calender. The builtin calender. And people have been asking for that for literally, years.

At the moment, Im paying for the hardware (theres *still* nothing the size of a 6110N with inbuilt GPS on other platforms), and being able to have a choice of applications (I have the choice of over 6 satnav programs).

But I dont think its very wise for Nokia/symbian to keep relying on those factors, which until now has kept them above the others.

Just thought Id add, for referance, that the register seems to be anti nokia, and the inquirer seems to be anti apple. Though bear in mind it doesnt automatically make them pro for the other company.

Which is a bit odd, since apperently most the guys that started the register left and started the inquirer.

Either way, look at past articles for both and you will see that Im right.

But the linked article in the OP does have a few good points.

And another example of how Nokia are just not listening, is that the call bug is still there.

Call bug is where in the log it says its from mobile, even though its from home, business etc. This apperently isnt fixed in FP2 either.
